To Zion Lutheran Church,
Greetings in Christ! With great joy and excitement I accept the placement as vicar which you have offered to me. Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve and to learn among your congregation in the proclamation of the Gospel.
To quickly introduce myself, I was born in Quincy, Illinois, and spent much of my life there. After high school I moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where I began my college education. There I was encouraged to look into the possibility of pursuing pastoral ministry. I then began classes at Concordia Chicago where I met my wife Beth. I completed the pre-seminary educational track at Concordia Chicago with a B.A., majoring in Theological Languages and minoring in Philosophy. Beth and I were married two years ago here in Saint Louis and have recently been blessed with a son, Isaiah, who is now one month old.
While attending seminary in Saint Louis, I have been working for Christian Friends of New Americans, as the Coordinator. This LCMS mission to refugees in the Saint Louis community has taught me that the most valuable education always comes with hands on experience. This is why I am so thankful that you have given me this chance to serve as your vicar. I am eager to put into practice the skills I have learned here at Concordia Seminary in hopes of serving you and furthering my education. My family is excited for the experiences we will share with you in the year ahead.
